My Role at TEI:
In January 2018,
the TEI Group gave me a new opportunity as a Service Apprentice. I was very
excited to accept this offer as I have been with TEI since 2006. Prior to this
position, I worked as a Dispatcher and, later, as a Project Coordinator in the
Modernization and Repair department. During that time, I wanted to be able to
use my hands and work on elevators. I had the knowledge of ordering materials,
booking jobs, and now I wanted to link the knowledge and acquire "hand-on"
experience to use. My journey began once I attended a program called NEW
(non-traditional Employment for Women). This gave me the knowledge of the tools
and what is expected and not expected in a male-dominated industry.
What
I'd like customers to know:
I would like the
customers to know that TEI is a great company to work for, and we provide the
best service out there. There is always growth within the company, providing
career paths for employees. I am truly blessed and proud to work for a great,
independent company. I also believe that more women will be joining the field
just as I have.
